Recruiting for Treasurer at Citizens Advice Leighton Linslade
Citizens Advice Leighton Linslade (CALL) is a small charity that provides information and free, independent advice to help people resolve their problems, including benefits, debt, employment, housing and we strive to change policies and practices that affect people’s lives. Last year our 50 volunteers and 6 members of staff helped almost 2,500 local people with about 11,000 issues. The service is based in Bossard House in Central Leighton Buzzard and has an outreach service at a local GP surgery.
We are looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees to ensure that the trustee board provides long term financial management of the organisation. The role of Treasurer will include oversight of the organisation’s finances and working with and supervision of the Chief Officer and volunteer book-keeper.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community to enable us to have a diverse trustee board that reflects our clients and communities.
Ideally, experience of the role of Treasurer or a financial background would be preferred. However, we are looking for people from any background with a wide variety of skills and a diversity of experiences.
The post of Treasurer is a voluntary one, but all reasonable expenses are reimbursed. The role is stimulating, varied and provides a great deal of satisfaction with the opportunity to develop and utilise your expertise, skills and knowledge.
